ADX Average Directional Index

The ADX or Average Directional Index is a technical analysis indicator that measures the extent of trend strength without consideration to trend direction.

The indicator is normally plotted on charts together with two lines referred to as the positive directional indicator (commonly referred to as +DI) and negative directional indicator (commonly referred to as -DI).
